Flight restrictions in place as Harris travels to Hawaii for vacation

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Two weeks after her election loss, U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris flew into Hawaii Island for a personal trip.
She and the second gentleman were scheduled to arrive in Kona at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
A senior aide said Harris was supposed to leave this past weekend, but she delayed her trip in case votes were needed in the Senate to confirm judges.
Her team determined she wasn’t needed in D.C. right now, but says to expect a major battle over judicial nominees next month.
The FAA has put flight restrictions in place Kona and Waimea until next Monday.
If you’re traveling to Hawaii Island this week, be sure to check with your airline and plan ahead for any possible delays.
