Doug Emhoff returning to campaign in Arizona

Second gentleman Doug Emhoff is returning to Arizona to hit the campaign trail for his wife, Vice President Kamala Harris.
Emhoff will visit Phoenix on Tuesday for a day of campaigning. He’ll be in the state the day before early voting begins Oct. 9.
Emhoff will speak at a get-out-the-vote rally and attend a “Republicans for Harris” organizing event and a campaign reception, according to the Harris campaign.
The presidential race between Harris and former President Donald Trump is a dead heat in Arizona, the latest public polls show. Arizona had the narrowest margin of any state in 2020: President Joe Biden beat Trump by fewer than 11,000 votes four years ago.
As a result, both campaigns are sending surrogates to reach out to undecided voters in Arizona.

The second gentleman is a familiar face in Arizona. He’s been to the state several times during Harris’ time in the White House. Most recently, Emhoff visited Tucson to campaign on the same day as Trump’s rally in the city.
Next week is on track to be a busy one on the Arizona campaign trail. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., was set to campaign for Harris in Phoenix on Friday afternoon, and actress Jennifer Garner was slated to be in the state on Saturday to promote Harris.
On the Republican side, Donald Trump Jr. is planning a six-event campaign swing around the Phoenix area Wednesday to promote early voting.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz has his own early voting trip in the works, but the Harris campaign has not said what day he’ll be in the state.
